Before making the decision to start her own practice, Dr. Susanne Koch worked for many years for renowned international commercial law firms.

Throughout her career she specialized in intellectual property law, in particular trademark law and unfair competition law, and spent many years in practice in one of the leading law firms in this field.

As a natural part of this work she has not only gained extensive experience in intellectual property law, but also as a litigator both in intellectual property cases as well as in general commercial litigation. It was during this time working with international commercial law firms that she developed a focus on dispute resolution and especially an interest in the field of mediation and, as such, is now a fully qualified mediator.

In particular she has extensive experience as a litigator at the highest level in commercial disputes including complex and international cases, such as litigation cases regarding warranty or product liability, intellectual property rights, contractual disputes in supply relationships, damage claims and post M & A disputes.

Susanne Koch’s work has involved her in all instances of German civil courts, including cases before the German Federal Supreme Court (Bundesgerichtshof). As a result, she is particularly well placed to evaluate all available options to solve a business conflict.

She has worked for domestic and international clients in numerous sectors, among them Plant Construction, Energy, IT, Telecommunication, Finance, the Hotel Sector and especially Automotive.

Therefore she is familiar with the special needs of certain industries as well as with the different cultural backgrounds of clients in international business.

Susanne Koch is fluent in both German and English.
